The construction of a railway up to the mining area in 1904 led to the building of an impressive communications network that eased the transport of the mineral from the various levels of the mine all the way up to the railway station.
This transport network (railways, slopes, funiculars and cable cars) aimed at connecting the various levels of mining to the railway station.
In 1955 the road connecting the C-1411 to Sant Corneli was finished.

The profitability of the mining grounds greatly depends on how well communications are organized. The invention of the steam locomotive solved the challenge to transport coal from the entrance of the mine to areas of consumption. At the beginning of the XXth century new and powerful electrical and steam locomotives were used until modern conveyor belts became the rule towards 1970.
